Man Hacked to Death

BHUBANESWAR: A 40-year-old man was hacked to death by his rivals in Salia Sahi here on Monday evening.

The deceased was identified as Kalia Pathan, an auto-rickshaw driver who had several criminal cases pending against him at different police stations in the Capital.

Sources said Pathan was the victim of a rivalry between two gangs. While Kalia was going to his home after winding up the day’s work, he was attacked by Parama Rout and his associates with swords.

Pathan sustained multiple injuries and succumbed on his way to Capital Hospital. Police have launched a manhunt for Rout.
