CM Aid for Caesarean Victims

BHUBANESWAR: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Thursday announced compensation of Rs 1  lakh each for families of those who had died hours after undergoing caesarean operation at VSS Medical College and Hospital in Burla on April 11. The financial assistance will be provided from the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund (CMRF).

The deceased were identified as Sulochana Pradhan (28) of Chhualiberna village of Belpahar in Jharsuguda district, Kalpana Mahakud (26) of Banjibahali village and Kasturi Seth (25) in Bargarh district. The State Government has already ordered a high level inquiry into the incident.
