BHUBANESWAR: Former Chief Secretary Bijay Kumar Patnaik, who had resigned from the post of member, Odisha Human Rights Commission (OHRC) on April 25, on Wednesday joined Vedanta Group as President, Vedanta University Project.
Speculation was rife that Patnaik may join as the next Chief Information Commissioner (CIC) of the State.
However, he took everyone by surprise by joining the Anil Agarwal Foundation university project as its president.
Patnaik, appointed as Chairman of Odisha Staff Selection Commission after his superannuation from civil services, will now lead the university-cum-smart city initiative of the foundation, said a company release.
