Prafulla Kar Samman for Anup Jalota

BHUBANESWAR: Bhajan king Anup Jalota will receive the Eighth Prafulla Kar Samman. The award will be given at a function marking the 76th birth anniversary of Kar here on February 15.

The Prafulla Kar Samman comprises Rs 1 lakh in cash, a citation and a shawl. The Prafulla Kar Foundation on Wednesday announced that the acclaimed singer and musician's birth anniversary will be celebrated over a two-day function at Rabindra Mandap beginning February 15.

Flute maestro Hari Prasad Chaurasia will inaugurate the event which will be followed by a 'jugalbandi' by Jalota and Kar. Eminent Odissi dancer Kumkum Mohanty and her troupe

will also perform on the occasion.
