BERHAMPUR: At least 30 passengers of a private bus had a narrow escape in Jaganathprasad block of Ganjam district on Friday. The bus was on its way to Bhubaneswar from Patadhar village in the morning. After it reached Chamunda village, the bus helper noticed smoke coming out of the engine.
When he removed the engine cover, he noticed fire. The bus passengers were immediately asked to alight.
Fire fighters were informed but before they could reach, the entire bus was gutted. The reason behind the fire is yet to be ascertained but fire officials suspect short- circuit.
