Country Liquor Seized, 3 Held

PURI: Excise officials, led by district Superintendent Ashok Patnaik, seized around 30 litres of illegal country liquor during raids conducted at three places under Brahmagiri police limits of the district and arrested three persons on Sunday.

Those arrested are Digambar Palei (25) of Rayapur, Susa Behera of Harakuda and Sukhei Dei of Brahmagiri.

Following a direction by Puri Collector Aravind Agrawal, a  special excise team conducted the raids and arrested the accused.

Separate cases have been registered in this connection and investigation is on.
