BERHAMPUR: A White Owl chick was rescued by villagers near Budhakhol hill in Buguda block of Ganjam district on Sunday.
Locals had gone to the hill to collect firewood when they found the bird on the road. They informed the forest officials who took it to the Buguda forest office.
Forest Ranger Prashant Kumar Sahu said the White Owl is a rare species. After necessary treatment, the bird will be released into the forest.
