Secretary Reviews Jaundice Situation

CUTTACK: Commissioner-cum-Secretary of Housing and Urban Development Department G Mathivathanan on Monday visited jaundice affected areas of the Millennium City. He also inspected some centres of Aahar scheme and reviewed progress of JICA projects.

Mathivathanan visited the worst-hit Jobra area and advised officials of Public Health Department (PHD) to ensure safe pipeline water supply to citizens. He also directed the officials to check and repair the damaged pipelines passing under the drains. Stressing on chlorination of pump houses, Mathivathanan directed for temporary provision of drinking water supply through tankers.

Mathivathanan inspected Aahar centres at Jagatpur, City Hospital and renovation work of the drainage system at Bajrakabati Road. Later, he conducted a review meeting at the residential office of Collector, Cuttack Nirmal Chandra Mishra over jaundice situation and progress of JICA projects. CMC Commissioner Gyana Ranjan Das and other officials attended the meet.
