House Looted

NIMAPARA: A group of dacoits entered the house of Lingaraj Rath of Patapur village under Nimapara police limits on Saturday and decamped with valuables. Rath, a senior citizen, had stated in his FIR that about five miscreants entered the house, tied him and beat him up mercilessly. They decamped with Rs 40,000, valuables, gold ornaments, household articles and even clothes. Neighbours admitted Rath to Nimapara Hospital.

Boy Dies

Ruturaj Nayak (8) of Gambharipada village under Kakatpur police limits died after he was hit by a vehicle while he was playing in the village. The vehicle sped from the spot.
