15 Houses Gutted in Fire

PARADIP: As many as 15 houses were gutted in fire mishaps under Paradip Lock police limits here on Tuesday.

The incidents took place in Udayabata and Sahada villages, reportedly due to mosquito coil. Fortunately, there was no casualty.  At least 10 single-room houses of Naren Mandal and Rabi Sigdar of Udayabat area besides, five houses of Ekkan Jena and Tapan Jena of Sahada village were reduced to ashes.

It took the fire fighters almost two house to douse the flames in both the areas. Property loss in both the villages is pegged at `five lakh each.  Kujang Fire Officer Harish Nath said due to timely intervention of fire fighters, the fire could be brought under control.
