JAJPUR: Factionalism in Dharmasala BJP has come to the fore during the visit of party’s State president Basanta Panda here on Thursday.
Divided into two groups - one led by Jajpur district unit vice-president Sarbeswar Behura alias Chagali and the other by Ramesh Chandra Parida - Dharmasala BJP workers welcomed Panda at two different places.
While Behura, along with another district vice-president Sabita Mishra and senior leader Kanhu Charan Dash, garlanded Panda at Neulpur, Parida, along with his supporters, felicitated the BJP chief at Jaraka. The race between the two leaders was to show their strength.
It was Panda’s first visit to Jajpur for Jana Jagaran Yatra. He also visited Chhatia Math and interacted with the locals. The Yatra then proceeded to Chandikhole via Jaraka and Kuakhia and Jajpur where Panda interacted met the locals.
