3 Notorious Criminals Arrested

BHUBANESWAR:  Khandagiri police on Friday arrested three notorious criminals while they were plotting a robbery on National Highway 16.

Three gold necklaces, `5000 in cash, four mobile phones and a car were seized from their possession. Police also recovered sharp weapons from the boot of the car.

The arrested were identified as Padmanava Pradhan of Puri, Santosh Baliarsingh of Khurda and Manoj Reddy of Pallaspalli area in the City.

Acting on a complaint filed by one Sagar Chandra Biswal, who was attacked and robbed by the gang near a petrol pump on the National Highway, the police arrested the criminals.

The trio was apprehended on the Jagamara-Airfield route by a mobile patrol team of police after a hot pursuit which lasted for an hour.

The accused have been arrested earlier in dacoity cases in Khurda, Puri and Nayagarh districts, sources said. They were produced in a court and remanded to judicial custody.
