BERHAMPUR: A history-sheeter, Bulu Prusti, was murdered in Sunapalli village under Dharakote police limits on Friday.
Bulu was a native of Kendupadar village and had gone to Sunapalli along with his wife, Santwana, to attend a wedding ceremony.
In the afternoon, four youths arrived in two motorcycles at the venue and forcibly took away Bulu with them. They took him to a mango orchard near Mundamarai College where a group of youths were waiting.
They then attacked Bulu with lathis and wood planks and fled from the spot after Santwana and other villagers arrived.
A profusely bleeding Bulu was rushed to Mundamarai hospital and then shifted to Aska hospital where he succumbed to injuries.
Bulu had several criminal cases pending against him.
Santwana has filed an FIR in the local police station against one Jaga Patra. Police suspect that the murder was over past enmity.
