Champua MLA's Son Appears Before Court

BHUBANESWAR: Champua MLA Sanatan Mahakud’s son Pankaj Mahakud on Monday appeared before the Judicial Magistrate First Class (JMFC) Court in the City to record his statement in connection with the complaint lodged by Kavita Mahakud, the woman claiming to be his wife.

Pankaj first recorded his statement as per Section 164 of the CrPC and was later produced in the court by Mahila Police.

He was served a notice to depose before the police in connection to the complaint filed by Kavita alleging that Sanatan was not allowing her to meet and stay with Pankaj.

Since Pankaj had defied the 15-day period, on April 8, Mahila Police Station IIC Bijayinee Malla had visited his house in Keonjhar to record his statement under Section 161 of CrPC.
