Vigilance to File Fresh Case against Engineer

BHUBANESWAR: The Bhubaneswar Vigilance Division will file a fresh case against Roads and Buildings (R&B) Department Assistant Engineer Sanjeev Nanda for amassing properties disproportionate to his known sources of income.

The sleuths conducted raids in different parts of the City and found properties worth more than `3 crore in the name of Nanda. He was arrested by the Vigilance on Monday while he was receiving a bribe of `20,000 from a City-based contractor.

The Vigilance officials have located three multi-storey buildings at Sishupalgarh, Dumduma and Unit VIII area here belonging to Nanda. The market value of these properties was more than `2 crore, sources said. The sleuths also traced two plots in the name of Nanda measuring around 11,000 square feet at Andharua and Chandaka area. Besides, `11 lakh in bank deposits and 288 grams of gold in two separate lockers in his name were traced.
