Vigilance to Attach Assets of Athagarh DFO

BHUBANESWAR: The State Vigilance will soon move the Special Vigilance court to execute attachment of properties of suspended Athagarh DFO Sudhansu Bhusan Mishra.

The formalities for attachment of properties acquired through unaccounted sources of income are under process, Director Vigilance Dr RP Sharma said. “We will take three to four weeks to build a strong case and appeal to the court for attachment of properties under the Criminal Law Amendment Ordinance, 1944,” he said.

The immovable and movable properties detected by sleuths during a raid in February were estimated at `6 crore.

Mishra had started his career as an Assistant Conservator of Forests, worked as DFO of Angul and Berhampur before being posted as Athagarh DFO.

Following his arrest on charges of amassing disproportionate assets on February 25, Mishra was suspended from service on March 2.
