Bhubaneswar Smart City plan attracts Rs 2,000 crore

The Smart City Project of Bhubaneswar has attracted investment intent to the tune of D2,000 crore from private sector. 

BHUBANESWAR: The Smart City Project of Bhubaneswar has attracted investment intent to the tune of D2,000 crore from private sector.  The projects include establishment of 1000 bio-fuel stations across the State’s urban areas which was proposed by My Own Eco Energy Pvt Ltd, Housing and Urban Development Secretary G Mathivannan said. Robert Bosch Engineering and Business Solutions, Siemens, Atos and Shapoorji Pallonji have shown interest in investing in integrated Smart City projects including renewable energy generation, solid waste management, smart and green buildings, micro and light transit systems Swedish delegation including Volvo and Axis Communications have pledged investment in modernised bus rapid transit system while Prasanna Purple Mobility Pvt Ltd evinced interest in centralised traffic management system. CISCO has shown interest in City Wi-Fi and Internet of Things-based services while OCL may invest in Smart goods distribution systems.
