SUNDARGARH:Protesting the police action of removing black scarves and stoles of  the women present at Mangaspur in Sundargarh Assembly constituency during Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik’s visit to the district on Sunday, BJP women wing took out a rally at Sundargarh town with blackened poster of Naveen on Monday.

The activists, led by district unit president Shanti Saraf, later burnt an effigy of the Chief Minister.
Sundargarh unit BJP president BK Mishra said protest would be held by BJP’s women wing in front of the collectorate and block headquarters  on Tuesday demanding apology from the Chief Minister.
The Chief Minister was scheduled to address a public meeting at Mangaspur in Sundargarh Assembly constituency during his one-day visit to the district.

However,  apprehending that black scarves might be used to protest the Chief Minister’s visit, police selectively removed the black-coloured stoles and scarves from the women before allowing them entry.
The incident subsequently snowballed into a controversy with the BJP and the Congress disrupting Assembly proceedings on Monday protesting disrespect  shown to the women during the meet.
