BHUBANESWAR: The maiden attempt by Odisha Police to seek online application for constable recruitment has elicited encouraging response with over 3,000 candidates taking the web route in just three days.
The State Selection Board of Odisha Police is conducting the recruitment to 521 posts of 9th India Reserve Batallion through e-recruitment software which was developed by Centre for Modernising Government Initiative (CMGI).

Additional DG B Radhika, who heads the selection board, said the software covers end-to-end of the application process - from receipt to generation of merit list. ''We have also created a Youtube video explaining the whole process to make it easy for aspirants.

For those who experience slow Internet connectivity or do not have any, the physical application process is still there,'' she told mediapersons here.
Executive Director of CMGI RS Gopalan said every attempt has been made to keep the process protected from hacking. Apart from using https, the portal has been hosted on Microsoft server. Besides, a team of web and application security professionals is making security audit on a regular basis. ''We also have personnel from NIC to help us in the process,'' he said.
IG, Railway Vinatosh Mishra, also a member of the selection board, was also present.
