CUTTACK: A special squad of Excise Intelligence and Enforcement Bureau (EI&EB) on Thursday arrested three persons including a woman at Cuttack Railway Station and seized 3.5 quintals of Bhang (cannabis) worth more than `2 lakh from their possession.
The arrested are S Linga Reddy of Ichchapuram in Andhra Pradesh, Kabindra Swain and Taapoi Behera of Nehru Palli in Cuttack.
Acting on an information that huge quantity of cannabis was being transported to Cuttack through Patna-Puri Express, the Excise sleuths nabbed the accused who were carrying seven bags each containing 50 kg of Bhang.
The trio was produced in court and remanded in judicial custody.
