JHARSUGUDA: In an eviction drive, district administration on Friday demolished around 100 shops and houses built on the government land near OMP Milan market on State Highway 10.
A three-storey building was also demolished in the process. Armed police officials were deployed in the area to maintain law and order. Earlier on Thursday, Jharsuguda Municipality and National Highway authorities had evicted more than 300 shops near NH-49.
The eviction drive will be continued on Saturday at OMP area and both sides of the Municipality road.
