CUTTACK: In view of the rush of spectators for the air show of the Indian Air Force (IAF) in the Millennium City on December 23 to commemorate the birth centenary of Biju Patnaik, Commissionerate Police has imposed some restrictions on vehicular traffic on certain routes.
While the air show will be held from 11.30 am to 12.30 pm, the restriction will be in force from 8 am till dispersal of the crowd. Expecting heavy rush of vehicles, Commissionerate Police has identified four parking places - Raja Bagicha High School ground, Sunshine ground, Khannagar Kali temple and Judicial Academy grounds.  

Briefing mediapersons, DCP Sanjeev Arora said no heavy or transporting vehicles will be allowed on Kathajodi Ring Road from Mani Mandir Square to Bell View Square. Vehicular traffic from Press Square to Khannagar via Mani Mandir has also been restricted.  
No three or four wheelers will be allowed to move from Jhanjirmanagala to Kathajodi Ring Road. Restriction has been imposed on moving of vehicles from Bell View Square, BPO Gada, Ganesh Ghat and Blue Lagoon Square towards Purighat.

Similarly, entry of long route buses from Madhupatna Square to Badambadi has been restricted.
While one ACP (Traffic), three Inspectors, 20 SIs and eight platoons of police force will be deployed for traffic management, 32 platoons of police force will be deployed for crowd management, Arora added.
