BHUBANESWAR: In a move to make budget preparation more open and participative using Information and Communicative Technology (ICT), the state government today initiated the process of obtaining inputs for preparation of the 2016-17 budget through e-mail and SMS.
The finance department said in a press release that suggestions can be sent by e-mail to odisha.budget@gov.in. Similarly, suggestions for budget can also be given through Whatsapp, Telegram and SMS to the mobile number (+91)9438161111. This facility will be available for a fortnight beginning from January 1, 2017.
Members of the public, civil society organisations, advocacy groups and other stakeholders have been requested to make use of this opportunity to participate in the budget making process of the state government.
