Rs 20 lakh seized from vehicle

Rs 14 lakh was found from a bag inside the vehicle while another Rs six lakh was recovered hidden below the seat.

BARBIL:Demonetised notes of Rs 500 and Rs 1000, worth Rs 20 lakh, were seized by Jharkhand Police on Tuesday evening from a four-wheeler near Badanada area under Jagannathpur police limits of Jharkhand during patrolling. The vehicle was heading towards Barbil.

During search, Rs 14 lakh was found from a bag inside the vehicle while another Rs six lakh was recovered hidden below the seat. The vehicle is registered in Asansol, West Bengal. Police investigation is on to ascertain the actual ownership and trail of money. Two persons, belonging to Coronation Infra of Barbil area, have been detained in this connection.
