BHUBANESWAR: As Congress and BJP are all set to corner the state government over several issues including death of children in Malkangiri during the winter session of the Assembly beginning Thursday, the ruling BJD today decided to raise the issue of central neglect to counter the Opposition.

"Several important issues will be discussed during the session. We are ready to discuss all issues to be raised by the opposition," Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik told reporters after the meeting of the BJD Legislature Party (BJDLP).

Talking to reporters Parliamentary Affairs Minister Bikram Keshari Arukha said his party will raise issues of central neglect, partisan approach of the NDA government in Polavaram and Mahanadi water dispute and difficulties faced by the people in rural areas due to cash crunch after demonitisation of two big currency notes.

Sources in BJD said that central neglect to the state will be the main agenda of the government which is facing a lot of difficulties in implementing several welfare and developmental programmes after abolition of a number of schemes by the NDA government.

The BJP legislature party today decided to corner the state government on poor health services which led to malnutrition deaths at Nagada village and deaths of more than 100 children in Malkangiri due to Japanese Encephalitis, said party president Basanta Panda.
