Newborn boy found abandoned in Balangir

A Newborn boy was rescued from Sinkhaman area under Balangir Sadar police limits on Monday.

 BALANGIR : A Newborn boy was rescued from Sinkhaman area under Balangir Sadar police limits on Monday. The baby was found abandoned in Jalia forest area at Sinkhama  by a local Birat Murgi and his wife.

The couple informed the Chairman of Balangir Child Welfare Committee (CWC), S Mishra who directed them to admit the baby to District Headquarters Hospital for treatment.


On Saturday, a newborn girl was found abandoned  near a nullah on railway station road in Balangir town. Some locals had spotted her and informed police, who rescued the baby and admitted her to District Headquarters Hospital.

As her condition deteriorated, she was later shifted to VSS, Burla. Apparently, this is the fifth such incident in the last two months. CWC Chairperson said the baby will be sent to Special Adoption Agency for now.
