80 Startups get SOI stamp

As many as 80 Startups working in diverse areas have been recognised by the Startup Odisha Initiative (SOI) during the last two months.

BHUBANESWAR: As many as 80 Startups working in diverse areas have been recognised by the Startup Odisha Initiative (SOI) during the last two months. The issue was discussed at the second meeting of the task force held  under the chairmanship of LN Gupta, Additional Chief Secretary in the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprise (MSME) department . The task force was also informed by CEO, Institute of Entrepreneurship Development (IED) Samarendra Sahu that 32 more Startup applications are under process.

The Task Force also approved monthly allowance grant of `20,000 per month for eight recognised Startups. These eight include, Phoenix Robotix Private Limited which is developing technologies based on Internet of Things and Wireless Sensor Networks for industrial applications. The Startup has 23 employees.

Maiestas Technology Private Limited is working on next generation LED Luminaries and is providing direct employment to more than 75 persons. The Startups approved with monthly assistance also include three started by women entrepreneurs. Those are, DD Bio Solution Technology Private Limited, Krea Foods and Beverages Private Limited and Prantae Solutions Private Limited.  The Task Force also recommended IDCO to consider giving priority to recognised Startups in land allotment. It was decided to extend mentorship support to applicant Startups at IIT, Bhubaneswar, KIIT-Technology Business Incubator and IoT Centre of Excellence, NASSCOM, Delhi.
