Cyber criminal brought to Rajgangpur

Police on Monday brought a cyber criminal of Ranchi in Jharkhand to Rajgangpur in Sundargarh district in connection with stealing of `1.23 lakh from a bank account.

RAJGANGPUR (SUNDARGARH) : Police on Monday brought a cyber criminal of Ranchi in Jharkhand to Rajgangpur in Sundargarh district in connection with stealing of `1.23 lakh from a bank account. The criminal, identified as Prakash Kumar, was arrested from Ranchi.Rajgangpur IIC PK Jena said on July 22, retired school headmaster Nabin Patel was tricked into sharing his SBI account details by an anonymous caller. Patel later found that an amount of `1.23 lakh was stolen from his account following which a case was registered. 

The IIC said based on inputs from the Cyber Crime wing, the police arrested the Prakash from Ranchi. He said `74,000 in cash, some documents and mobile phones were seized from his possession. The IIC said the mastermind of the crime is at large. Investigation revealed that the two criminals had transferred the amount from Patel’s account to few other accounts through illegal online banking, he added.
