BJD women take LPG subsidy stir to streets

Biju Mahila Janata Dal (BMJD), the women’s wing of the BJD,  on Tuesday staged demonstrations across the State protesting the Centre’s decision to end subsidy on LPG cylinders and hike price.

BHUBANESWAR:Biju Mahila Janata Dal (BMJD), the women’s wing of the BJD,  on Tuesday staged demonstrations across the State protesting the Centre’s decision to end subsidy on LPG cylinders and hike price.

In Mayurbhanj, the district unit of BMJD staged demonstration in protest against the decision of Narendra Modi-led Government at the Centre to withdraw LPG subsidy. The protest meet was held in front of the Collectorate. Among others, district BMJD president Jatimoi Kabat and secretary Sampa Majumdar were present.

In Malkangiri, thousands of BMJD activists took out a massive rally demanding rollback of the decision to withdraw subsidy and price hike of LPG cylinders. Later, a protest meet was held in front of the Collector’s office and a delegation of BMJD submitted a memorandum addressed to President Ramnath Kovind.

In Parlakhemundi, a similar protest meet was held in front of the Collectorate. In Jharsuguda, activists of the women’s wing of the BJD, led by district president Jai Kumari Patel, staged a protest against the NDA Government.
