Wishes pour in for Odisha CM Naveen Patnaik

BHUBANESWAR: Felicitation of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik for winning the Outlook Speakout Best Administrator Award continued for the second day on Monday with the Council of Ministers and different organisations pouring into congratulate him.

While a special meeting of the Council of Ministers was convened to congratulate the Chief Minister for his achievement, different employees’ associations met Naveen at his Secretariat chamber to felicitate him.

Addressing the meeting of Council of Ministers, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Bikram Keshari Arukha said, the Chief Minister underscored the need for putting into practice 3Ts (transparency, teamwork and technology) for further development of Odisha. "People can get benefit out of all schemes if 3Ts are implemented successfully," he said.

Arukha said, Odisha has been able to carve out a special place among the States in the country due to the strong leadership of the Chief Minister, his administrative efficiency, honesty and efforts for welfare of the poor. Giving an account of the good governance by the State Government which led to Naveen getting the best administrator award,  Arukha said poverty has reduced substantially during the last 17 years, income of farmers has doubled and several schemes have been implemented to empower the women.

The Odisha Government’s achievement in disaster management and its handling of cyclone Phailin after the super cyclone of 1999 have been acclaimed internationally, he said and added that the Council of Ministers resolved to be with the Chief Minister in his efforts for further development of the State. The Ministers maintained that they will work sincerely to make Odisha, number one State in the country.

The Ministers also praised the initiative of Naveen to resolve the tax dispute between the Odisha Government and Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) for Paradip refinery.

Earlier, members of the IAS Officers’ Association, IPS Officers' Association, IFS Officers' Association and other employees associations felicitated the Chief Minister in his Secretariat chamber. Several organisations also met the Chief Minister at Naveen Nivas.
