Missing Vedanta Alumina official traced

Two days after the assistant manager (environment) of Vedanta Alumina, Satya Ranjan Sahu, and his driver were allegedly abducted, a police team traced them near Bissamcuttack on Sunday. 

BHAWANIPATNA: Two days after the assistant manager (environment) of Vedanta Alumina, Satya Ranjan Sahu, and his driver were allegedly abducted, a police team traced them near Bissamcuttack on Sunday. They were brought to Lanjigarh.

Police arrested two members of the gang which  had abducted Sahu and his driver. The arrested gang members were travelling in another car that had met with an accident near Sikerkupa. The accused then walked through forests along with the victims on Saturday. Later, the abductors apparently freed the victims at the foothills near Bissamcuttack. The injured gang members were admitted to Bhawanipatna government hospital.

Earlier, the abductors had snatched two ATM cards from  Sahu and asked for its password. However, on finding the cards blocked, they returned the cards to the victim, sources said.Earlier, Sahu and his driver Gourishankar Naik were abducted on Friday night while they were returning to Lanjigarh from Sambalpur in a newly-bought SUV. A gang of five individuals, travelling in another car, abducted the duo near Banjari temple in Kadalighati area.They got inside Sahu’s car and forced Naik to drive as per their direction. Two of the gang members, who are now in police custody, travelled by the other car and followed Sahu’s vehicle.
