BHUBANESWAR: At least one passenger died and 19 others were injured after a bus they were travelling in, turned turtle on Monday. The bus was going from Puri to Kakatpur. The deceased has been identified as Dilip Behera, helper of the bus. Police said, the driver failed to spot a cow on the road and in a bid the cow, he took a sharp turn resulting in imbalance and the vehicle turned turtle on Marine Drive. The bus was carrying 20 passengers with extra luggage.
“One person died and 19 passengers were injured of which the condition of one is stated to be critical,” Puri district SP Sarthak Sarangi said. After the incident, the injured were rushed to a nearby hospital. It seems to be a case of rash and negligent driving and investigation is on, a policeman said.
