Raigoda to be made model village with modern facilities

Collector Anil Kumar Samal has announced that Raigoda village in Nuakheta of the district will be made a model village with all basic amenities and modern facilities.

ANGUL: Collector Anil Kumar Samal has announced that Raigoda village in Nuakheta of the district will be made a model village with all basic amenities and modern facilities.

Samal, accompanied by SP Brijesah Rai, Satkosia DFO SMT Rahman and other district officials recently visited the new displacement site at Saruali, 30 km from here, and interacted with the displaced families.

He also gave away land pattas and work orders of houses under Biju Pucca Ghar Yojana (BPGY) to all the 78 families. Later, the Collector reviewed the water supply facilities, electricity supply, road connectivity and construction of check dam in the presence of the officials concerned.

The Collector said the administration will provide all support to the villagers to grow cash crops and start other means of livelihood. Educated youths will be given ITI training to make them self-reliant and employable. The houses under BPGY will be completed within six months, he added.

On the day, more than 60 villagers underwent health check-ups and given medicine free of cost.
Raigoda, a tribal village situated in the core area of Satkosia Tiger Reserve, was relocated  near Nuakheta on December 6.
