BHUBANESWAR: To ensure successful and seamless implementation of Goods and Services Tax (GST), the Central Board of Excise and Customs (CBEC) has setup GST Seva Kendras in the City. A large number of trade associations, chambers of commerce and members of the trade advisory committee of the State participated.
As a part of the initiative, the CBEC-Bhubaneswar organised training and sensitisation workshop and seminars in coordination with the Central and State GST authorities across all field offices in Odisha.
The workshops and awareness camps in the State are continuing for the last seven months under the supervision of the office of Chief Commissioner, GST, Bhubaneswar which has issued trade advisories, circulated contacts of senior officials to address the queries of the public, said sources.
The seva kendras have acted as a one-stop solution for all GST-related issues and needs of the tax payers who receive assistance and get a first hand knowledge of mandatory compliance relating to the GST, Joint Commissioner GST, Bhubaneswar Vishnu Kumar said. “A successful implementation of GST has been the top priority of the Central Government. The Central GST Department is taking all possible steps to reach out to traders and stakeholders,” Kumar added.
