Youth killed in bomb attack  

A youth was killed in a bomb attack at Naubanka under Binjharpur police  limits in Jajpur district late on Sunday night.

JAIPUR: A youth was killed in a bomb attack at Naubanka under Binjharpur police  limits in Jajpur district late on Sunday night. The deceased is Abhimanyu Das (35), a BJP worker. Police said some miscreants arrived at Naubanka Chhack on two motorcycles and hurled bombs at Abhimanyu while the latter was returning home along with two of his friends. Locals rushed Abhimanyu and the two others to the District Headquarters Hospital at Jajpur town where Abhimanyu  succumbed to injuries. His injured friends are undergoing treatment.

Sources said Abhimanyu had a dispute with his political rivals over defeat of his wife as a sarpanch candidate under Binjharpur block in the last panchayat election. On Sunday, both the groups again had a heated exchange of words following which, Abhimanya was attacked.

Binjarpur police have started investigation. IIC of the police station, Asit Kumar Mohanty said previous enmity may be the reason behind the killing. No one has been arrested so far.
