BHUBANESWAR: Agriculture Minister Damodar Rout on Thursday congratulated faculty members and students of Odisha University of Agriculture and Technology (OUAT) for bagging 11th position in the National-level ranking of agriculture universities in the country.
At an event organised by the University Teachers' Association of OUAT, the Minister said, the university achieved this feat due to its academic excellence, research and extension achievements over the years.
Earlier this week, ICAR announced the rankings for the academic year 2016-17 according to which, OUAT achieved first position among the agricultural universities in Eastern and North Eastern India. Among the state agricultural universities, OUAT ranked eighth. This apart, 144 students of the university have qualified in the Junior Research Fellowship examination conducted recently by ICAR.
