BHUBANESWAR: IIT Bhubaneswar on Sunday conducted an interactive session for JEE Advanced 2017 rankers and prospective JEE students through Skype as well as teleconference.
Chairman, JEE at IIT-BBS C Bhamidipati gave a detailed presentation on general procedures to be followed for admission into IITs. Like the previous year, IIT-BBS would continue to conduct reporting centre activity for JEE Advanced qualifiers on its Argul campus. Candidates were informed that they can do their reporting, document verification at IIT-BBS even if they are allotted seats in any of the IITs. The dates for reporting centre and counselling have been announced on the website http://josaa.nic.in.
A live question-answer session was conducted with students, parents and guardians from different States. Special attention was paid to female students who were informed that extra supernumerary seats for girl students will start from next year.
The live counselling session was started with a welcome note on IIT education by Director, IIT-BBS Prof RV Rajakumar. Among others, Dean, Student Affairs Prof VR Pedireddi and Dean, Academic Affairs Prof NC Sahoo also spoke.
The participating parents and students appreciated the initiative of IIT-BBS in educating students on various technicalities in IIT education, JEE admission process and general queries on various programmes.
Around 190 participants, including 20 through skype/phone participated in the live counselling session.
