KORAPUT: The kidnap and murder case of a minor girl Susila took a twist with the police revealing black magic as the reason behind the crime. Damanjodi police arrested the girl’s mother and grandfather in connection with the incident.

Informing the sequence of events, Additional SP VR Rao said on June 12, the girl’s mother Mithila Saunta (27) lodged a kidnap complaint claiming that some masked men abducted Susila after attacking her. Mithila, who claimed to have sustained injuries, was  admitted to District Headquarters Hospital. The next day, Susila’s body was found in a well at Janiguda near Kudmul village limits, he added.

Police, during course of its investigation, got some clues leading to the arrest of the two, said Rao.
Mithila confessed before police that she killed Susila to learn black magic. She stabbed Susila’s chest, took out her blood and liver at the behest of Bolu Pujari, the grandfather of the girl. Police forwarded the two to court on Sunday, the Additional SP added.
