BHUBANESWAR: THE Central Bureau of Investigation on Wednesday booked Director of Indian Institute of Technology (IIT)-Goa Dr Barada Kanta Mishra for allegedly amassing property worth `1.14 crore disproportionate to his known sources of income.

He is accused of indulging in corruption during his tenure as Director of Institute of Minerals and Materials Technology (IMMT) at Bhubaneswar between April 2006 and March 2017.

The CBI conducted raids on his residence at Surya Nagar and IMMT campus here and his IIT-Goa office and seized incriminating documents. The CBI sources said Mishra possessed movable and immovable assets worth `3.79 lakh in 2006. However, by the time his stint ended at IMMT-Bhubaneswar, Mishra and his family owned assets to the tune of `2.19 crore by the end of August 2016.
