JAGATSINGHPUR: After Collector Yamini Sarangi expressed her reluctance to perform ‘chherapahanra’ (sweeping of chariot), Project Director, DRDA Biswajit Das performed the rituals at Sidhal Rath Yatra festival here on Sunday. The festival here was a grand affair as thousands of devotees pulled the chariot on the occasion.
In the port city of Paradip, the car festival rituals were performed by Chairman, Paradip Port Trust Rinkesh Ray. The fest at Kunja Bihari temple in Gadakujanga panchayat was a glittering affair. Here, the chariot pulling is done on the day after the Rath Yatra. Agriculture Minister Damodar Rout performed the sweeping of chariots and participated in the festivities.District administration and police had made elaborate arrangements for the safety of devotees.
