Mysterious fire claims one

A 24-year-old worker of a sponge iron plant at Tumkela under Lahunipara police limits died a day after a mysterious fire broke out in the staff quarters he was sharing with three others on Wednesday night.

The victim, Binay Yadav was admitted to Ispat General Hospital (IGH), Rourkela for severe burn injuries. Three of his room-mates were also hospitalised.
The incident took a twist when Yadav’s father Balrup reached the hospital from Bihar and alleged that his son was murdered. He claimed that the room, with the four youths, was set on fire by some miscreants who doused it with petrol.
The injured were identified as Ranjan Sha, Hyder Ali and Dhiru Ram, all in their early 20s. Basing on the complaint of Balrup, Bonai SDPO S R Mohapatra said, a murder case has been registered and investigation is underway. The condition of three others continued to be critical.
