BHUBANESWAR: Even as the BJP is going to hold its next national executive body meeting at Bhubaneswar to capitalise on the impressive performance of the party in the Zilla Parishad polls, chief minister and BJD supremo Naveen Patnaik started the process of review of the party's not so impressive show in the election.

Besides effecting organisational changes, the chief minister may also go for a reshuffle in the cabinet in the second week of April after the budget session of the assembly ends on April 7.

Naveen today had an one-on-one discussion with party's Junagarh MLA Dibyashankar Mishra in whose constituency, the party drew a blank in the Zilla Parishad polls. The BJD could not even win a single  ZP zone in Junagarh assembly constituency out of the seven seats.

The chief minister asked the MLA the reason behind the party's debacle in his constituency. He also put questions about the BJD's organisational strength in Kalahandi and his constituency. He asked the MLA to visit his constituency to connect with the people and make them aware about the schemes launched by the BJD government.

The BJP had almost made a clean sweep of Kalahandi district by winning 33 out of the 36 ZP zones while the Congress won two and BJD one seat.

Sources said the chief minister has already started meeting MLAs and other leaders from districts in which the party's performance was not good in the ZP polls. He is likely to meet more leaders from Kalahandi to get a first hand information about the reasons behind the party's debacle in the district.

Leaders from other districts including Mayurbhanj, in which the party's performance was not to up to the mark, are likely to meet the chief minister in the coming days.

Ministers in whose constituencies and districts, the BJD did not show good results may get the axe. Besides, new presidents of the youth and students wings are also to be appointed to revitalise these two organisations.

Meanwhile, the Biju Yuva Janata Dal (BYJD) said holding the national executive at Bhubaneswar will have no impact on the BJD. If the BJP is going to organise the national executive as a show of strength, it will not succeed in its design, BYJD general secretary Bijay Nayak said.

Criticising the Prime Minister for not announcing a package for Odisha, Nayak said he should make it clear, whether the BJP wants development of the state or is interested for only getting votes from people.
