Innovation for healthy competition stressed

Director (Economics) of Competition Commission of India Bidyadhar Majhi stressed the need for innovations for a healthy competition.

BHUBANESWAR: Director (Economics) of Competition Commission of India Bidyadhar Majhi stressed the need for innovations for a healthy competition. Speaking at a seminar on Wednesday, he advocated for quality goods and services for better market competition.
While comparing the living standards of people before and present competition era, Majhi said open market has brought in tremendous improvement in the living standards by making available goods at the doorsteps of consumers.

The seminar on ‘Overview of Competition Law - Cartelisation and Leniency’ was jointly organised by the Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI) and Competition Commission of India (CCI).
Inaugurating the seminar, Vice-Chancellor of National Law University Prof Srikrishna Deva Rao advocated the idea of economic development and inclusive growth strengthened by the ethics of business. He elaborated the business model in shaping the competitive market situation and the behaviour of the consumers determining the concept of competition.

Founder Vice-Chancellor of Sri Sri University KC Mishra explained the business and marketing strategy adopted by large business houses. He demanded that the CCI should look deeply into these aspects to ensure fair competition for betterment of consumers.Chairman of ICSI-Bhubaneswar chapter Priyadarshi Nayak, company secretaries Mohan Ram Goenka and Rajendra Kumar Kar also spoke.
