2 held for robbing tourists

Police on Friday arrested two persons, including a minor, on charges of snatching mobile phones and cash bag from tourists.

PURI: Police on Friday arrested two persons, including a minor, on charges of snatching mobile phones and cash bag from tourists. SP Sarthak Sarangi said the duo, a bus driver identified as Saroj Kei (25) of Gangadharpur in Brahmagiri and a minor, was involved in three separate cases of snatching along the VIP Road near Sea Beach police station. Police recovered five mobile phones and a bike from their possession. While Saroj was forwarded to court and remanded in judicial custody, the minor was produced before the Juvenile board.

Sex racket busted, five arrested

Puri: Police busted a sex racket operating from a guest house near Narendrakona on Thursday and arrested five persons. Besides, two girls were also rescued by the cops. The arrested are Jagannath Behera, Manas Bhoi, Deepak Naik and Rajendra Sahoo. Police also arrested the manager of the guest house Laxmikant Choudhury.
