Lured with chocolates, minor raped

A four-year-old  girl was allegedly raped by a 24-year-old youth  in  Kothasahi village  under Rajkanika police limits in the district on Monday evening.

KENDRAPARA: A four-year-old  girl was allegedly raped by a 24-year-old youth  in  Kothasahi village  under Rajkanika police limits in the district on Monday evening.  The accused, Rajesh Mallick, lured the victim to a secluded place in the village by offering her a chocolate. The accused managed to flee from the village after committing the crime.

“My daughter went missing  for two hours on Monday evening. I searched for her everywhere. I heard her crying and found her in an orchard in the village. She was lying injured,” said the victim’s mother, who filed a complaint with the police on Tuesday.

Acting on the FIR, police registered a case. The victim was sent for medical examination to the government hospital in Rajkanika. “Police have been raiding  several hideouts of the accused,” said Kendrapara SP Dayanidhi Gochayat.
