BHUBANESWAR: Innovation, synergy among industry, academia and young enthusiastic entrepreneurs can do wonders, opined eminent scientist and brain behind India’s first light combat aircraft Tejas Dr Kota Harinarayana.

Harinarayana was here recently to attend the golden jubilee of ‘Brand Texmo’. Citing the examples of Tejas, which ultimately became a reality through such synergy and is now recognised as best in the world, he urged the industrial houses to focus on innovation and fund on basic research.
“This would yield for them and the country will get its returns in the long run,” he hoped and wished that instead of a craze for ‘foreign goods’ a time will come when the world will ask for products and services made-in-India.

Group Chairman R Kumaravelu congratulated the team in Odisha for the group’s longest association and maintaining high standards of ethics and services. He discussed the group’s ongoing R & D activities and the path the company will take in the future.

The Aqua group is recipient of the prestigious TPM Award from Japan for excellence in Total Production Management. It received energy efficiency award from the Centre consecutively four times for the past four years.

In-charge of the group, Odisha, Hariharan Balakrishnan spoke on the milestones achieved during the five decades journey. Among others, vice-president (Marketing) V Krishnakumar and executive partner of Tex Marketing Agencies Arup Mishra also spoke. Gold medals, motorcycles and mopeds were presented to the best mechanics of the State.
