Harley-Davidson rides into State, opens first dealership

Get ready to tame the muscular beasts on the roads for, legendary US motorcycle manufacturer Harley-Davidson on Friday announced the launch of its first dealership in Odisha.

BHUBANESWAR: Get ready to tame the muscular beasts on the roads for, legendary US motorcycle manufacturer Harley-Davidson on Friday announced the launch of its first dealership in Odisha. 
Besides making available all the 14 models available in India, Konark Harley-Davidson is all set to offer a wide range of parts and accessories to customise motorcycles as well as authentic merchandise at its 5,813 sq ft showroom situated near Nakhara on the city outskirts. 

With the new addition, Harley-Davidson now has 28 authorised dealerships across the country.
Earlier in the day, more than a hundred Harley-Davidson owners from across the State took part in the Founders’ Ride which went on a 120-km ride from Bhubaneswar to Puri and back. 
Managaing Director of Harley-Davidson India and China Peter MacKenzie, who also joined the Harley Riders Brotherhood in the ride, said the brand brings riding communities together. “Odisha represents an important strategy of our plan in India as there is a presence of sheer number of riders in the State,” he said. 

Konark Harley-Davidson will serve as the perfect destination for all Harley-Davidson riders across the eastern belt of the country. This facility will further inspire the next generation of Harley-Davidson riders to join the sport of leisure motorcycling in India, he said.The aim is to make Harley-Davidson experience more accessible and relevant in the country, MacKenzie said and added that he enjoys riding in India.
Dealer principal of Konark Harley-Davidson Devjyoti Patnaik said his facility will be a one-stop destination for all motorcycle and brand enthusiasts who wish to experience the premium lifestyle that Harley-Davidson is known for across the world. 

“With increased accessibility, we are excited to open our doors to a whole new set of Harley-Davidson riders,” Patnaik said. Over the last year, Harley-Davidson India has opened dealerships in various cities including Guwahati, second dealership in New Delhi and Bengaluru, Dehradun and Kolhapur. 
Besides, the company has opened a Harley-Davidson university in New Delhi which imparts quality technical and non-technical training. It is the second university to operate outside the US after Thailand.
