AP officials visit Kotia villages again

JEYPORE: A team of Andhra Pradesh Government officials from Vizianagaram visited the disputed Kotia villages in Koraput district on Tuesday. According to sources, officials of Water and Sanitation departments, ITDA and medical department  visited Tadivalasa, Kumbivalasa and Panduvalsa villages, three of the 22 disputed villages of the region. The officials interacted with the villagers and surveyed roads and water bodies for further development.

The officials even dedicated a daily 104 ambulance service to these villages. They informed the villagers that the ambulance would provide emergency health services to these pockets by carrying medical staff to the cut-off places.Among others, medical officer Narayan Rao and project officer of ITDA Laxmi Saha of Viziangaram district visited the villages. A few days back, the AP Government had started road works in Talaganjaipadar area, sources said.

The Odisha Government had also sent a five-member team, led by KBK commissioner SP Takhur, to take a stock of the situation in the disputed villages. The district administration made a blue print for development of the disputed areas.Various political parties and social organisations of Koraput had organised meetings in Kotia recently to woo the villagers for supporting Odisha Government. Sources said there had been increasing activities of development works in Kotia villages by Koraput administration in the past few days. The AP Government had also geared up its activities to carry out more development works in the areas to woo the people.
