2 SOG jawans hurt in IED blast

Two SOG jawans sustained minor injuries following an IED blast during an exchange of fire with the Maoists in Badjhola forest inside Sunabeda Wildlife Sanctuary in the district early on Sunday.

NUAPADA:Two SOG jawans sustained minor injuries following an IED blast during an exchange of fire with the Maoists in Badjhola forest inside Sunabeda Wildlife Sanctuary in the district early on Sunday.
The injured SOG jawans have been identified as  Samit Lama and Prahallad Kulakar. They have been admitted to Nuapada District Headquarters Hospital.

Some Maoists are also suspected to have sustained injuries in the encounter. The SOG team are reported to have seized Maoist materials.  Briefing mediapersons, Nuapada SP Smit P Parmar said that an area domination was underway for the last two days with several SOG teams combing Patdhara and Badjhola areas.  

Maoist posters spread panic

Bhawanipatna: APPEARANCE of fresh Maoist posters at Malijuang village in Lanjigarh block has sparked off panic among the locals and the contractors. The posters were found pasted on trees on Saturday. The posters were issued in the the name of Umakanta, secretary of Bansadhara-Ghumsar- Nagavali division of CPM(Maoist).

In one of the posters, it was mentioned that PMGSY road under construction from Kandh Juang to Punjam should be stopped by February 27 or else the fate of contractor Sibashankar Das will be repeated for defying the diktat.The poster stated that this road is meant to facilitate bauxite ore transportation from Khandualgiri to Niyamgiri to run the plant.The other poster names three contractors and traders of Malijuang village and they have been warned to mend their ways or else face trial in praja court.
The veracity of the posters and its link with Maoists is under verification, police sources said.
