Collector visits Kotia to demarcate land

KORAPUT: Koraput district Collector K Sudarshan Chakraborty along with Pottangi legislator Prafulla Pangi and district level officials on Sunday visited the disputed Kotia village to demarcate land for infrastructure development.

Sources said about 12 acres of land was identified and demarcated for all-round development of the  Kotia panchayat. A border dispute between Odisha and Andhra Pradesh is continuing since the formation of the Andhra Pradesh in 1956. Since then, the area has been neglected by both the States. However, for the past one year, both the governments have started initiating measures for developing the 21 tribal-dominated villages of Kotia panchayat.

The district Collector identified and demarcated 3 acres land each for a school, hospital, market yard and office buildings at the panchayat. The Collector also formally launched a plantation programme on the eve of Van Mahotsav.  On the other hand, Pangi visited Phatusineri village and distributed old age-pension to 88 beneficiaries.
